“Planet of Fluevog”

FluevogCreative gives talented and aspiring artists the chance to create a Fluevog ad that will grace the pages of magazines around the globe.
Participants are given a prompt in the form of a new shoe for the upcoming season, and are asked to create an artwork that includes or showcases the footwear. This particular prompt focused on the the new style of women’s shoe called the ‘Ennegram Perfectionist’.

My inspiration for 'Planet of Fluevog' was the look of the sripes on the shoes, which reminded me of lasers or neon lights, and resulted in developing this work based on retro sci-fi comics. There are lots of small details and tributes to atomic age comics- for example the legs on the large robot are the same as those on Robbie the Robot. Through this work I wanted to capture a wacky and vintage vibe.
